The Easybeats released their 3 LP “Volume 3” on Nov. 3, 1966. It was the third and final album from the group recorded in Australia before relocating to England.

“Volume 3” would peak at #7 on the Kent Music Report charts and would end being the 21st best selling Australian album of 1966. The lead single “Sorry” (which was released on Oct. 13, 1966, prior to the LP’s release) was written by band members George Young and Stevie Wright. It peaked at #1 on the Australian Go-Set’s National Top 40 in mid November 1966. It remained at #1 on the Australian Charts for 2 weeks in November 1966.

We mention this LP today as Easybeats member George Young passed away on Oct.22 of this year. George went on to write and produce records for a number of people including his younger brothers Malcolm and Angus who started a band you may have heard of AC/DC. He was also a member of Flash and The Pan.

Here’s a little Australian Rock and Roll circa 1966 by The Easybeats and their single “Sorry”.

Happy 51st birthday to the LP “Volume 3”!!
