If former Bob Seger backup player and a founding member of the Eagles Glenn Frey was still with us, he would have had 69 candles on his birthday cake today.
Over the years, Glenn had suffered from some intestinal disorders. The Eagles were set for the Kennedy Center Honors on Dec. 6, 2015 but they have had to postpone it because Glenn was scheduled for some major surgery, related to his intestinal problems. Following surgery, he was placed in a medically-induced coma at Columbia University Medical Center. He died there on January 18, 2016 age 67 from complications of rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis, and pneumonia, while recovering from gastrointestinal tract surgery. Medications for rheumatoid arthritis or ulcerative colitis can compromise the immune system’s ability to fight off pneumonia.
If you were told you could only hear one song by Glenn (the Eagles) to celebrate his birthday and his life, which song would you request?
Happy Birthday Glenn. Thank You.
