Towards the end of 1969, the rumors of Paul McCartney’s death, were growing. So ‘Life’ magazine, tracked down Paul and wife Linda at their farm in Glasgow, Scotland, to disprove the rumors of his death. On The Nov. 7th Issue of ‘Life’, Paul was the featured cover story of that week’s edition of the magazine, which carried the headline “Paul Is Still With Us.”
In the interview, Paul shot down several of the “clues” of him being dead and added: “Perhaps the rumor started because I haven’t been much in the press lately. I have done enough press for a lifetime, and I don’t have anything to say these days. I am happy to be with my family and I will work when I work. I was switched on for ten years and I never switched off. Now I am switching off whenever I can. I would rather be a little less famous these days.”
So, 48 years ago today, Paul McCartney was still alive, as he is to this date. Did you ever really believe the rumors?
