On Nov. 25, 1963, The Beatles landed in North America. It was on that day that their LP “Beatlemania; With The Beatles” was released in Canada.

Chicago’s Vee-Jay Records, who had (some) rights to the band in the US, had originally planned to release the LP “Introducing The Beatles” on July 22, 1963, but didn’t get it out until Jan. 10, 1964. The Vee-Jay release in the US came just 10 days before Capitol Records released “Meet The Beatles”.

Then in Feb. of ’64, the lads played the Sullivan show.

So, we don’t think were are to far off by saying Happy 54th Birthday to The Beatles in North America!!!

Any of you have this release?

(Yes we know they had got some airplay, but this was the first you could buy one of their albums on the continent.)
