Remember the song “Dead Babies” by Alice Cooper? There is a chance that the first time you heard that song was 46 years ago today, on Nov. 27, 1971. The was the day that Alice Cooper (the group) released their 4th album titled “Killer.”
The album included the two singles “Under My Wheels” and “Be My Lover” and reached number 21 on the Billboard 200 album chart,
Cooper has said that the song “Desperado” was written about his friend Jim Morrison, who died the year this album was released. The song “Dead Babies” stirred up some controversy following the album’s release, despite the fact that its lyrics conveyed an “anti-child abuse” message. Musicians such as Jello Biafra and John Lydon have referred to the album as an influence.
When is the last time you listened to this LP? When is the last time you put on any of the Alice Cooper albums?
Happy 46th Birthday to the LP “Killer”!!!
