When John Lennon recorded his duet with Elton John for the song “Whatever Gets You Thru The Night”, he made Elton a promise that if the song hit #1, he would appear on stage with him.

The song did hit #1 so on Nov. 28, 1974, Lennon went onstage with Elton at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. The two sang their hit as well as The Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There.”

Backstage, wife Yoko Ono meets John, ending John’s 18-month separation from her, known as the “Lost Weekend.”

This was to be John Lennon’s last appearance on stage in a public concert..

43 years ago tonight. The only actual footage of the concert is a silent 8mm. This is from a John and Yoko movie.

This is not the actual footage, but very rare and hard to fine!
