The Rock and Roll generation has been blessed with a number of great poet / singer / songwriters. One of the greatest, Harry Chapin, if he were still with us would have turned 75 years old today.
Harry’s best known songs included “Taxi,” “W*O*L*D,” “Sniper”, “Flowers Are Red,” and the No. 1 hit “Cat’s in the Cradle.” Chapin was also a dedicated humanitarian who fought to end world hunger; he was a key participant in the creation of the Presidential Commission on World Hunger in 1977. In 1987, Chapin was posthumously awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for his humanitarian work.
We lost Harry on July 16th of 1981when he was involved in a car crash.
Is there one of his songs that really means something to you?
Happy Birthday Harry. We hope you have learned to fly…
