On Jan. 31, 1967, John Lennon went antique shopping in Sevenoaks, Kent, England. One of the things that caught his eye and he purchased was a circus poster from 1843. He liked the poster so much in fact that he wrote a song about it. On the poster was the line “Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite.”
