This isn’t a Beatles ’50 years ago today’ post. This is a Beatles ’60 years ago today’ post….

And then there were 3.

The Quarrymen performed at the Wilson Hall in the Garston section of Liverpool, England on Feb. 8, 1958.

After the show. Quarrymen member Paul McCartney introduces his friend George Harrison to John Lennon.

6 years later on the same date, the 3, along with drummer Ringo Starr would be in rehearsals for their first appearance in the US on The Ed Sullivan Show. They had changed their name by then to The Beatles.

To those who don’t pay any special attention to Rock and Roll, it is just another day. To those who do….
