A band called The Herd got together for the first time on March 3, 1966 in Los Angeles. The band included unknowns Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Richie Furay, Bruce Palmer and Dewey Martin. The members would later decide to take the name of an old steamroller, Buffalo Springfield for the name of their band. But it wasn’t the first time that Stephen Stills had been in a band with the word ‘Buffalo’ in it. At one time, Stephen played in a band called “Buffalo Fish” with his good friend and future member of The Monkees, Peter Tork.

Happy 52nd Birthday to “Buffalo Springfield”!!!!!

Besides their classic “For What It’s Worth”, what is your favorite song by them?
