The Jimi Hendrix LP “Band of Gypsys” was released on March 25, 1970. It was a live album by Jimi Hendrix and the first without his original group, The Jimi Hendrix Experience. It was recorded at the Fillmore East in New York City with Billy Cox on bass and Buddy Miles on drums. This grouping is frequently referred to as the Band of Gypsys. It contains previously unreleased songs and was the last full-length Hendrix album released before his death.

Do you remember the first time you heard this record? Is it just us or did “Machine Gun” blow you away too?

Happy 48th Birthday to the Jimi Hendrix album “Band Of Gypsys”!!!
