Another of the really sad stories of Rock and Roll:

He has been referred to as the 4th member of Cream. He was the producer of and the bassist for Mountain. He was Felix Pappalardi. Felix produced 3 albums for Cream. He also produced for many others including The Youngbloods and Leslie West.

Felix was shot and killed by his wife, Gail, on April 17, 1983, in their East Side Manhattan apartment. Gail Pappalardi was subsequently charged with second-degree murder. She claimed it was an accident, was found guilty of the lesser criminally negligent homicide and sentenced to sixteen months to four years in prison and was released on parole in April 1985. She fled to Ajijic, Mexico, and lived there as a recluse until her death in 2013. Pappalardi is interred next to his mother at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bronx, New York.

Felix was only 43 years old.

In memory of him, we will be playing some Cream, “Mississippi Queen” and “Theme For An Imaginary Western” at full volume today.

RIP Felix. Thank you for your work. You will live on forever through the music.
