In the summer of 1968, Bobby Kennedy was campaigning to become the next President of the United States. On June 4th of that year he was in Los Angeles for a campaign speech at The Ambassador Hotel.

It was just after midnight on June 5, 1968 that Bobby had just finished his speech in the ballroom at of the hotel. Leaving the ballroom, he went through the hotel kitchen after being told it was a shortcut to a press room, despite being advised to avoid the kitchen by his bodyguard, FBI agent Bill Barry. In a crowded kitchen passageway, Kennedy turned to his left and shook hands with busboy Juan Romero just as Sirhan Bishara Sirhan, a 24-year-old Palestinian, opened fire with a .22-caliber revolver. Kennedy was hit three times and five other people were wounded. Bobby passed away on June 6th..

It was a sad time for the US and the world. Do you have any memories of this 50 years ago?

“…Anybody here seen my old friend Bobby……Can you tell me where he’s gone….”

RIP Bobby…. and Abraham, Martin & John.
