The Beatles – All You Need Is Love (Our World 6/25/67)

Written by on June 25, 2018

Everything is broadcast via satellite today. Of course it wasn’t always that way. On June 25, 1967, the world’s first worldwide satellite broadcast entitled “Our World”, which features performances from all over the globe, aired the live English portion of the program which featured The Beatles. The band used the event to introduce their new single, a message of hope from John Lennon entitled “All You Need Is Love.” The live broadcast originated from Abbey Road Studios in London and it featured the band singing and playing along to a pre-recorded track. And there were a handful of guests in the studio for the broadcast. The guests included Mick Jagger and Marianne Faithfull, Keith Richards, Keith Moon, Eric Clapton, George’s wife Pattie Boyd, Paul’s fiance Jane Asher and his brother Mike, Graham Nash and his wife, and others.

Do any of you remember seeing this when it happened 51 years ago today?
