KISS released their sixth studio LP “Love Gun” on June 30, 1977. It was the first KISS album to feature a lead vocal performance from Ace Frehley, which made it the first Kiss album to feature lead vocal performances from all four band members. It was also the last studio album to feature Peter Criss on every song.

For those of you who bought this record, do you remember the cardboard “Love Gun” (some assembly required) that was included with the album? There was also a Kiss merchandise order form.

The band was incredibly popular at this time. Before Love Gun was even completed, a Gallup poll indicated that Kiss was the most popular band in the United States, beating Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin and the Eagles.

Happy 41st Birthday to “Love Gun”!!!
