In the early 80’s, Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson were best of friends. Michael often sought Paul’s advice, which Paul readily gave. That McCartney, he’s such a nice boy…
Then: On Aug. 14, 1985, Michael, acting on the advice of Paul, invested his “Thriller” money in music publishing. Michael Jackson secretly made a winning bid of $47.5 million for the rights to over 250 Lennon-McCartney Beatles songs owned by ATV publishing. Paul was also bidding.
When he found out that Jackson had won, McCartney was livid, stating “I think it’s dodgy to do things like that. To be someone’s friend and then buy the rug they’re standing on.” Oh and Paul has called Michael a ‘scumbag’ also.
Well Paul, you should have felt proud that he took your advice….
This picture is of Sir Paul and the Gloved One in happier times. Even though it does look like Sir Paul wanted to punch Michael….
