Russell "Evil G." Johnson of BareBonesMusic.com recently conducted an interview with guitarist Jordan Buckley of Buffalo, New York's EVERY TIME I DIE. You can now watch the chat below.

EVERY TIME I DIE's latest album, "New Junk Aesthetic", sold around 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 46 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released on September 15, 2009 via Epitaph Records.

"'New Junk Aesthetic' is not the next logical step in the progression of EVERY TIME I DIE," vocalist Keith Buckley previously stated about the effort. "It is an evolutionary leap. It's as if we have morphed from a single-celled bacteria straight to the guy with the dirt bike that will let you watch his older sister suntan if you steal him a smoke from your parents. Certainly you may acknowledge similarities, but on a grand scale, they stand light years apart."

Elliot Levin of the New York Hard Rock Examiner conducted an interview with Texas heavy rockers DROWNING POOL prior to the band's August 21, 2010 performance at the Hartford, Connecticut stop of this year's Ozzfest. Watch the chat below. A review of the show can be found at this location.

DROWNING POOL's self-titled fourth album was released in April via Eleven Seven Music. The CD was recorded at House of Loud (BREAKING BENJAMIN, PARAMORE) with Kato Khandwala producing and David Bendeth mixing. Kato and David brought the band's sound to another level. Drummer Mike Luce excitedly explains, "Sonically, 'Drowning Pool' squashes anything we've ever done. This record is really diverse too. There's some material that could've been taken right off 'Sinner', and there's some new stuff that goes beyond all expectations of this band. I can't wait for people to sink their teeth into it."

According to The News Tribune, Stephen Wesley Ungerbuehler — who was known as Steve Unger (MySpace page) when he played bass for METAL CHURCH from 2004 to 2009 — was arrested Monday (August 23) for allegedly leading a three-county marijuana-growing operation in the Washington state. He was charged Wednesday with leading organized crime, unlawfully manufacturing a controlled substance and money laundering. Pleas of not guilty were entered on his behalf.

He's being held in Pierce County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Ungerbuehler's attorney, Jay Berneburg, told The News Tribune his client "adamantly denies" the allegations against him. Berneburg said Ungerbuehler is a professional musician who travels and has earned his money legitimately through record sales, concerts and other contracts.

"This is another case of the war on drugs run amok," Berneburg said.

PlanetBrowny.com conducted an interview with DOWN/ex-PANTERA singer Philip Anselmo when DOWN performed at this year's High Voltage festival at the end of July in London, England. An excerpt from the chat can be viewed below. The entire interview is available here.

According to an August 24, 2010 tweet from the French branch of Roadrunner Records, the label has set an October 11 French release date for "Diary Of A Mad Band", the long-awaited new DVD from DOWN. Meanwhile, Amazon.com is listing an October 5 U.S. release date for the disc, which will feature footage of DOWN members "tearing up Europe" — literally and figuratively — on their first European tour. This special DVD/CD collection contains over 130 minutes of live video material and a full, never-before-released concert. (Note: The CD is different from the DVD.)

DOWN bassist Rex Brown has fully recuperated from his fight with pancreatitis, a sudden inflammation of the pancreas which can have severe complications and high mortality despite treatment.

In October 2008, DOWN released a "deluxe edition" of its critically acclaimed third album, "Over the Under". The deluxe package, which was made available as a Best Buy exclusive, included a DVD with over 30 minutes of previously unreleased live performances and behind-the-scenes footage.

The album was released on Down Records in conjunction with Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group (ILG).

RAINBOW: Rare 'Long Live Rock 'N' Roll'-Era Performance Clips Posted Online

Bassist Bob Daisley, who was a member of RAINBOW from 1977 to 1979, has posted high-quality video footage of of RAINBOW performing the songs "Gates of Babylon", "Long Live Rock 'N' Roll" and "L.A. Connection" at a New York studio prior to the release of the band's third studio album, 1978's "Long Live Rock 'N' Roll'. You can watch the clips below.

Back in May, Daisley released the following statement regarding the passing of legendary heavy metal singer Ronnie James Dio (DIO, HEAVEN & HELL, BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW, ELF):

"With the sad passing of my friend and colleague, the world has lost a great man. Not only was he a unique singer, musician and writer, he was a very special human being.

"Long live rock 'n' roll and long live the memory of the great Ronnie James Dio. He'll be sadly missed in many ways. Bless him."

Although Bob Daisley and David Stone are listed on the "Long Live Rock 'N' Roll" credits for their contributions, they joined RAINBOW after the recording sessions had already commenced and only appear on a couple of tracks. Guitarist Ritchie Blackmore played most of the bass parts himself for the album.

"Long Live Rock 'N' Roll" was remastered on CD for the U.S. market in April 1999, with the European version following later. The U.S. version had a matte booklet/insert, which matched the original vinyl sleeve for all markets, whereas the European issue was the standard glossy type.

This was RAINBOW's last album to feature Ronnie James Dio on vocals. He left, later to join BLACK SABBATH, and was replaced by Graham Bonnet.

In June 2009 a CD-size book about the making of album was released in the series "Rock Landmarks" called "Long Live Rock N' Roll Story". It was written by RAINBOW and Blackmore expert Jerry Bloom.
