John Lee Hooker: Boom boom

Posted from the web by on June 22, 2018

It was 17 years ago today, on June 21, 2001, Blues legend John Lee Hooker passed away. He was 83 years old. (That is an estimate as his actual birth year is disputed)

John Lee Hooker was an incredible influence on musicians worldwide. Many of the early British bands that played / loved American Blues, tried to copy his style. Hooker had hit’s with songs like “Boogie Chillen”, “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer” (think George Thorogood & The Destroyers) and probably his most well known song “Boom, Boom, Boom”. He was also in the movie “The Blues Brothers”. His songs have been covered by many artists like The Doors, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin and others.

RIP Mr. Hooker. Thank You.

Here is his song “Boom, Boom, Boom”.
