…and then they were done…..52 years ago today.

On Aug. 29, 1966, The Beatles played their last live gig for a paying audience, winding up their last world tour at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. The show, which ends with a cover of Little Richard's "Long Tall Sally," is filmed by Beatles press officer Tony Barrow.

After the show, George Harrison said half-joking, "Well, that's it, I'm not a Beatle anymore."

About four years ago, Paul McCartney played a concert at Candlestick. It was to be the last event held there.

So, who was there and who wishes they were there, 52 years ago tonight?
