March 29, 1974: Mott The Hoople released their eighth album, "The Hoople." It would peak at #11 on the UK Albums Chart and go to #28 on the US charts. This would be the group's last album; singer/songwriter Ian Hunter would leave for a solo career by the end of 1974, while the remaining members carried on under the names Mott and British Lions before dissolving a couple of years later.
