The Beatles – Hello, Goodbye

Written by on November 11, 2019

November 10, 1967: The Beatles spent the day filming three promotional films for their new single "Hello Goodbye" at the Saville Theatre in London. Paul McCartney was the producer for all of the films.

Each of the videos featured different costumes and Beatle antics; in the first film they wear their Sgt. Pepper uniforms, for the second they are wearing everyday clothes, and the third film clip features scenes from the first two films, plus additional shots of the boys dancing around and doing the twist. A Musician's Union ban on lip-sync broadcasts prevented the film from being used on British television; the first version of the promo would make its debut in the United States on The Ed Sullivan Show on November 26, 1967.
