The Beatles – Paperback Writer

Written by on May 21, 2020

May 20, 1966: The Beatles spent the day filming promotional clips for their new single, "Paperback Writer"/"Rain" at the Chiswick House and Gardens in London. The videos were directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, who would be the director for the group's "Let It Be" project three years later.

Note Paul's chipped tooth and scarred lip; he'd been involved in an accident while riding his motor scooter in Liverpool in December 1965. In fact, he'd use the scar as a reason for growing a mustache later in the year, which the other Beatles would copy by growing their own mustaches.
