April 29, 1993: The great guitarist/songwriter/ music arranger/producer Mick Ronson died of liver cancer at his home in London. He, of course,, achieved critical and commercial success in the 1970s working with David Bowie as one of the Spiders from Mars. He was later a session musician who also played extensively with Ian Hunter, as well as a sideman in touring bands with Van Morrison and Bob Dylan. Ronson was 46 years old.
