You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)

April 30, 1969: John Lennon and Paul McCartney go into the studio to do some work. Neither George or Ringo are there.
John recorded the lead guitar solo for the single version of “Let It Be” while both John and Paul would then record vocals and sound effects for “You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)”. The song was two year old, having been recorded with all four Beatles (and Brian Jones on sax) in 1967, but had remained on the shelf until 1969. John wanted it to be a single for The Plastic Ono Band; instead it would be released as the B-Side to “Let It Be” in March 1970.
