The Clash – Train In Vain (1983 US FESTIVAL) (Live)

Written by on May 28, 2021

May 28, 1983: The second US Festival took place at the Glen Helen Regional Park in San Bernardino, California; some 670,000 people would attend the three day event. Today was “New Wave Day” and featured Divinyls, Berlin INXS, Wall of Voodoo, Oingo Boingo, The English Beat, A Flock of Seagulls, Stray Cats, Men at Work, and The Clash

This would be Mick Jones’ last appearance with the band; having already sacked drummer Topper Headon because of his drug issues, Joe Strummer would fire Jones at the end of the summer for “drifting away from the original idea of the group.”
