June 7, 1977: The Sex Pistols celebrated the Queen’s Silver Jubilee day by hiring a boat to travel along the River Thames in full view of the Houses of Parliament and playing a few songs, including their latest single, “God Save The Queen.” The police would raid the boat and several people were arrested, including the group’s manager Malcolm McLaren.
