The Beatles at Shea Stadium [FULL CONCERT]

August 15, 1965: The Beatles began their second North American tour with a concert at the new Shea Stadium in New York City. A then-record crowd of 55,000 fans were at the concert, with 2,000 security guards and NYC police present to make sure the crowd didn’t get out of hand. The opening acts were Motown singer Brenda Holloway, Sounds Incorporated, Killer Joe Piro and The Discothèque Dancers, The Young Rascals and Cannibal & the Headhunters.
The show grossed $304,000, of which The Beatles’ share was $160,000.
